He came with his family to Six Shooter Junction, as Harlingen was then known, in 1906 and he was a member of the first graduating class of Harlingen High School in 1916. He was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harlingen. Mr. Anglin worked at First National Bank in Harlingen for about ten years and then was an insuarance agent for several years before retiring. He also worked for a time at Baker and Bott nursery. He lived in Harlingen from 1906 to 1989, until he moved to Houston in August 1989, at age 90.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lorraine; his wife of 69 years, Vesta Grimes Anglin; four brothers, Charley, Lawson, Ross and Everett; and a sister, Mamie Konze.
He is survived by a daughter, a son, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchidren, a brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
