Hazel Witting, 89, of 204 Tyler St., Athens, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994, at the Robert Packer Hospital. Born in Burlington Township on July 23, 1905, she was the daughter of Grow and Helen Dodds Gustin. She was a member of the Luthers Mills Methodist Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Sayre and Athens Senior Citizens Club and its band, the "Young at Heart Kitchen Band," in which she played Minnie Pearl. She was an accomplished seamstress and a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Helen and Robert Jenkins of Mansfield, Elsie and Alfred Allyn of Churchville, N.Y., Fred and JoAnn Bohlayer of Ulster, and Donald and Betty Bohlayer of Sayre; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two husbands; Fred Bohlayer Sr., in 1956 and Amos Wittig in 1985; two brothers, Ethan Gustin in 1991, and Harry Gustin in 1989; and a grandson, Myles Jenkins in 1987. Friends may call at the Lowery Funeral Home, Athens, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Barrett, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Athens, officiating. Burial will be in the Ulster Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Area Agency on Aging, Main St., Towanda, Pa. or the American Heart Association w. Fourth St., Williamsport, Pa.
