WILLIS HENDREN.
Newark, Mo., March 7.—Funeral services for Willis Anderson Hedren, 81, were held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon, conucted by the Rev. E. M. Turner of Hannibal. Clyde D. Myers, John Ahern, Sammy Spees and Mashall Cloyd sang, with Mrs. G.O. Spees as pianist.
Mr. Hendren was born in Knox county, Nov. 1, 1868. He died March 4 at his home in Newark. He married Miss Ora M. Snyder Aug. 30, 1893. Three daughters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Lonnie Leslie ol Canton; son, Homer Hendren; two granddaughters, Cora June and Betty Ann Hendren of Ft. Madison, la., and two nieces and two nephews, Mr. Harry Simpson, Mrs. Jennings, Roy and Willis and Chester Slaughter.
Mr. Hendren served Knox county as state representative and county judge of the eastern district. He was clerk of the Newark school board and Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was a member of the Newark Baptist church.
Burial was in Newark cemetery. Pallbearers were G. S. Minor, B. L. Minor, Willis Slaughter, Harry Simpson, C. G. Reamy and Robert Plunkett.
