Mrs. Mary Lou (Tishie) Mearse of Route 1, Flintville, did Saturday afternoon at Lincoln County Hospital following a short illness. She was 62 years old and was the widow of Rufus Coleman Mearse, who did in 1963.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Flintville Holiness Church with the Rev. Howard McGehee officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery with Ralston Funeral Home, Fayetteville, in charge of arrangements.

She was a native of Lincoln County and was a member of the Flintville Holiness Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Taylor of Flintville, Mrs. Buford Taylor of Tullahoma, and Mrs. Wayne Hemphill of Birmingham, Alabama; five sons, R. C. Mearse, James Mearse, and Thomas Ray Mearse, all of Flintville, George Mearse of Hazel Green, Alabama, and Delbert Mearse of Fayetteville; three half-sisters, Mrs. Bessie Lou Speck of Fayetteville, Mrs. Sally Ann McNeal of Elora, and Miss Rosetta Johnson of Flintville; two brothers, Jim George and Luther George, both of Flintville; a half-brother, Charley Johnson of Nashville; 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
