Doris Arlene Dobbs, 88, went to meet her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2016. Doris was born on April 3, 1928 in Reed, OK to George Franklin and Georgia Ruth (Coatney) Smith. Doris was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide most of her working career. She worked at the nursing home in Moore, the VA Hospital and the nursing home in Tuttle. Doris was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church and also enjoyed listening to Billy Graham. She was a dedicated church member and a prayer warrior. She was an honest, loving, caring, straight forward person with a kind loving spirit who would help anyone in need. She was always happy and had a smile on her face. Doris enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, and gardening. She enjoyed cooking and her son Jimmy said her fried chicken and peanut butter cookies were God’s gift to the human race. She also enjoyed watching “As the World Turns” “In the Heat of the Night” Lawrence Welk and Hee-Haw. Doris’ first love was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Davison and wife Debra; 2 daughters, Anna Autry and Karen Davison; 2 sisters, Winona Weaver and Mary Thompson; 8 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; son, Reford Davison; brother, Jim Smith; sisters, Frankie, Irene, and Betty Sue; great grandchildren, Noah Morris and Kristion Kelley. Services will be at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore, OK at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Funeral services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
