Joseph Augustin Maurice, 47, of 341 California Avenue, died Saturday at Metropolitan Hospital following an illness of two weeks. Born in Simcoe, Mr. Maurice lived in Windsor for the past 35 years. He was employed at Reliable Cleaners as a dry cleaner and presser. He was the Junior Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Maurice of Windsor, Donald Maurice, Royal Canadian Navy, Halifax Nova Scotia, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Valade (Margaret) Mount Holly, New Jersey, Mrs. Charles Hamelin, Belle River. Five brothers, Alde, Riverside, Donat, Roseland, Gerald, Hamilton, Auber, Oldcastle, and Roger Maurice, Windsor. Four sisters, Mrs. Paul Frigault, Hamilton, Mrs. Charles Juneau Detroit, Mrs. Wilford Ouellette, Belle River, Mrs. Ray Farrand, Windsor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Marcotte Funeral Home, 870 Wyandotte East, and at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.
Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery . The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge will conduct services today at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
