Fort Edward—Andrew J. (“Itchie”) Beale, 53, of 65 Broadway, died unexpectedly Wednesday (May 15, 1974) at Glens Falls Hospital.

He was born in Fort Edward December 25, 1920, and was a life resident there.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre in the famous 100th Infantry and had been awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was a self-employed as contractor-carpenter and was a former member of the Durkee Hose Company, Fort Edward. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Doyle Beale; his mother, Mrs. Mary Beale of Fort Edward; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Doyle of Glens Falls; Mrs. Luanne Spalding of Hudson Falls and Miss Dawn Marie Beale of Fort Edward; a son, Scott Andrew Beale of Fort Edward; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Kilmer Funeral Home and at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church where a Mass of the Resurrection will be offered.
