James Albert Beaty was the son of Louzern Augustus Beaty [1881-20 Aug 1949] and Mollie Koch [10 Mar 1904-27 Nov 1984]. In 1958 he married Helen Hillman Edland.
Following his tour of service in the U. S. Air Force, he became a cement mason apprentice with the George Madsen Company of Tacoma, Washington. His lifelong career as a concrete contractor - Beaty Construction - continued past his 80th birthday.
Jim was survived by his wife Helen, his son Michael and daughter Terry (Mike) Donnelly, as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
