Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Clark

In Memory of Little Gladys

No more the patter of little feet.
While the days drag slowly along
No more the innocent childish talk,
Or snatches of childish song -
No more may I look into little girl's eyes,
With questions so earnest and deep;
Our Gladys has gone to her home in the skies,
Our little girl is asleep.
God needed another little child,
To go on errands of love.
So he took her from her earthly home
To dwell with him above;
And while our hearts are breaking
For our own dear little one,
We know that she is happy
In her home beyond the sun.
So pure and sweet and innocent -
Our little angel girl
Is beckoning us to follow
And enter the "Gates of Pearl."
We'll love and obey the Saviour
Till he calls us to come above
And then we'll dwell together
In mansions of light and love.
