MRS LATHA (sic) THOMPSON
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Bessemer Methodist church for Mrs. Letha Ann Thompson, mother of Mrs. C. C. Brown of Burlington. The death occurred shortly before noon yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. M. Glass, 3814 East Market street, in Bessemer, where Mrs. Thompson had been in declining health for the past year. The pastor. Rev. O. J. Jones; Rev. K. L, Whittlngton, pastor of the Bessemer Presbyterian church and Rev. A. A. Walker, pastor of the Bessemer Baptist church, will conduct the rites. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Thompson, a widely known member of the Bessemer community, was born in Alamance county, but had lived most of her life in Guilford county. She was a
member of the Bessemer Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Glass, Mrs B.S Cheek of Greensboro and Mrs. C. C. Brown of Burlington; 3 sons, U.G.; G. G.; and E. E. Thompson, all of Greensboro; five brothers, George P. Payne of Julian; L. T. Payne of Council;
John D., B. H. and C. W.Payne, all of Graham, route 1; one sister, Mrs. Levi Sharpe of Burlington; 34 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
