His wife, Margaret, preceded him in death on November 1, 2010. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four children: Derald, Cynthia, Rita, and Mitchell; and one brother: Leon Morlan.

He is survived by one daughter: Michelle Moore of Russell, KS; one son: Michael Morlan and his wife Marilyn of Wellington, KS; two brothers: Maurice Morlan of Shreveport, LA and Donald Morlan of Alabaster, AL; one sister: Marjorie Shipman of Oneato, NY; one sister-in-law: Martha Morlan of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren: Joshua Morlan, Jason Morlan, Nicale Ney and husband Jason, Kasey Williams, and Kristin Kettwich and husband Richard; and five great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jaden, Cooper, and Camry Ney and Glenn Kettwich.

Graveside service is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2013, at the Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS, with Pastor Philip Smith presiding and full military honors.

Memorials may be sent to Protection American Legion or American Heart Association in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
