A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Walter E. Cherry Sr. and the daughter of the late John H. and Myrtle (Hill) Parton.
A retired waitress with the Junior Varsity in Roebuck, she was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Guy Randall Maddox and Albert Wendell Maddox, both of Roebuck; one sister, Margaret Graham of MS; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Maddox, Christopher Maddox, Joshua Maddox, Breanna Maddox, Justin Maddox, Brandon Maddox and Amber Maddox; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2005 at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck, conducted by Rev. Bill Teague and Rev. Paul Smith.
