CYPRESS, Texas – Freda Alene Ackerman, 83, of Cypress, Texas, formerly of the Pfeiffer community, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at a nursing home in Tomball, Texas.
Born June 14, 1920, at Willow Springs, Mo., she was the daughter of Asa and Evan Gibson Green. She was retired from Cato's Dress Shop in Batesville. She was active in the Pfeiffer 4-H Club, was a youth leader at the Pfeiffer Baptist Church and was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church in Houston.
Survivors include a son, Bob Ackerman of Batesville; a daughter, Jean Ackerman of Cypress; two brothers, Marvin Green and George Green, both of Willow Springs; two sisters, Etta Williamson of Willow Springs and Mickey Frommel of West Plains, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Ackerman; and a great-granddaughter, Jeanna Alene Ives.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with the Rev. Scott Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens near Batesville.
