Emma Josephine Melinkovich, 92, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Aspen Wind Assisted Living Center.

A resident of Cheyenne for the past seventeen months and former long time resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mrs. Melinkovich passed away following a brief illness.

She was born on October 26, 1921 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria Menghini Anselmi.

Mrs. Melinkovich attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1939 graduate of the Rock Springs High School. She later attended and graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado, with a nursing degree.

Following her graduation from nursing school she joined the United States Army and served as Lieutenant nurse in World War II and was stationed in London from January 3, 1944 to February 11, 1946.

Upon her return from England she married Joseph M. Melinkovich in Rock Springs, Wyoming on July 14, 1946 and had 5 children over the next 14 years. She was a dedicated mother and wife and this was her life for many years. Mrs. Melinkovich also worked as a school nurse for a number of years and later was the co-manager of the KOA Campground.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Saint Mary's Catholic Church and Rock Springs Altar and Rosary Society.

Her volunteer interests were church activities and Meals-on-Wheels but she most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son Paul Melinkovich and wife Barbara of Denver, Colorado; one daughter Mary Foianini and husband Larry of Laramie, Wyoming; nine grandchildren Anthony Foianini and wife Cassandra, Gina Foianini, Tara Melinkovich Ramirez and husband Luke, Laura Veraldo and husband Matt, Clark Melinkovich and wife Laura, Matthew Melinkovich and wife Sami, Clayton Melinkovich and wife Jeri, Jason Melinkovich, Janel Melinkovich; fourteen great-grandchildren Annabelle, Olivia, Emmeline Foianini, Joaquin and Nico Melinkovich Ramirez, Sarah, Ryan, and Jared Melinkovich, Madison, Luke, Eli, and Spencer Melinkovich, Roxanne and Portia Melinkovich; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Melinkovich Sr.; three sons Michael Melinkovich, Gary Melinkovich, and Joseph Melinkovich, Jr.; brothers Rudy Anselmi, Ernest Anselmi, James Anselmi; sisters, Lena, Faye and Josephine; granddaughters Nadia Melinkovich and Angela Foianini and grandson Christopher Foianini.
