HERVE M. DUBOIS, 81, of 95 Main St., Slatersville, a self-employed stone mason for 35 years and a maintenance worker for the School Department for 10 years before he retired in 1983, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Germaine (St. Pierre) Dubois.

Born in Phetford Mines, Canada, he was a son of the late Josephat and Rose (Tanguay) Dubois.

Mr. Dubois was a Fourth Degree member of the Rev. William J. Frehill Council, Knights of Columbus of Slatersville, and was named "Knight of the Year" by the council in 1989.

Mr. Dubois was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, McAuley House in Providence and St. John the Evangelist Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves five sons, Maurice Dubois of Bellingham, Mass., Dennis Dubois of Burrillville, Richard and Charles Dubois, both of Woonsocket and Rene Dubois of Fremont, Calif.; two daughters, Sister Jacqueline Dubois of the Sisters of St. Anne of Swansea, Mass., and Aline Proctor of Burrillville; two brothers, Hector Dubois of Woonsocket and Henri Dubois of Manville; a sister, Juliette Dubois of Woonsocket; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Church, Church Street, Slatersville. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
