FRANK P. BURKART
Frank P. Burkart, 69, Wausau, retired chief electrical installation supervisor for the Wisconsin Valley region of the Wisconsin Public Service Corp., died at 4:30 oclock a.m. Thursday in a Wausau hospital.
Mr. Burkart, until his illness six years ago, had supervised the construction or maintenance of every electrical substation of the WPSC since joining with the company in 1922 after attending Marquette University.
He was born in Sherry Feb. 21, 1892, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Burkart and married Hazel Anderson in Menominee, Mich., Nov. 17, 1924. He was largely self-taught and became ill two years before his retirement four years ago.
He was a 50-year member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and a member of the Quarter Century club of the WPSC.
Surviving besides the widow are two sons, Robert Burkart, Nrania, Fla., and Clyde Burkart, Norwich, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Ramsey, Rothschild and Mrs. Wm. Hafner, Wausau; three brothers, George and John Burkart, Stratford, and Wm. Burkart, Florence; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Koutnick, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Barbara McDonald, White Lake, and Mrs. Theresa Oettinger, Stratford, and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in St. Marys Catholic church Saturday morning with the Rev. Leander Koopman officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial cemetery.
