Nicholaas Kaan

Memorial services for Nicholaas Kaan, 56, were held July 17, in Waterville, ME. He died July 14, 1987 after a lengthy illness.

Kaan was born Aug 20, 1930 in Lusk to Nicholaas T. and Edith (Eikenberry) Kaan.

He attended the University of Wyoming and graduated from Woodbury College in Los Angeles.

He was Lusk's city manager from 1961 to 1969. From 1969 to 1978, he was personnel director at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. He moved to Waterville, ME in 1978 where he held the same position at Colby College.

Kaan was regional president of the College and University Personnel Association at one time.

He married Anne Pierce July 14, 1963 in Essex, MA.

He is survived by his wife of Waterville, ME, a son, Christopher Kaan of Fort Collins, CO; two daughters, Mrs. J.R. (Stephanie) Kant of Fort Collins, CO, and Mrs. Thomas (Tracy) Clough of Aurora, CO; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Redding of Lusk, Mrs. Norma Shillenn of Rock Springs, Mrs. Myrna Wormly of Sun City, AZ, Mrs. Donna Jetson of Great Falls, MT, and Leta Fagan of Fort Collins, CO. Kaan was also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Additional information; married Trudie Lousie Jones (1931-1960) on 10 Nov 1951 in Los Angeles Co., California.
