Jenola E. Ackley, 95, of Chillicothe, died early Saturday, February 3, 1996, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born September 16, 1900, in Vinton County, the daughter of Wilson and Sarah Arminda Ankrom Darby. She was married December 11, 1916, to Homer Ackley, who preceded her in death March 19, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lavaughn Cleo and Vincent McKee, New Holland; grandchildren, David Lee and Kathy McKee, Chillicothe; Janice Ann and Dr. Robert Frank, Columbus; great-grandchildren, Sean and Christa Mckee, New Holland, Chad and Michele Mckee, and Hillery and L. J. Kennedy, Columbus; step-great-grandchildren Brandi and Sean Frank, Columbus; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Freda Ackley; six brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Ackley and her husband were well known Ross County farmers for more than 50 years. She was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church and the Ross County Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
