The daughter of the late William and Ocie (Alspaugh) Anger was born in Ingersoll Township on Dec. 29, 1914, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Midland High School in 1927. On Jan. 19, 1935, in Angola, Ind., Edith married Roy Carlson. He died on June 25, 1994. Edith had been employed with Joel Kahn Attorney for many years and then with AMPM Ad Agency in Midland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and King's Sons and Daughters. Edith enjoyed sewing and made many children's quilts and doll dresses for donation to local shelters.
Surviving are her son, David (Paula) Carlson of Midland; two grandchildren, Sue Morrison and Steve Carlson; seven great-grandchildren, Brianne, Andy, Christian, Molly, Terry, Samantha and Austin; brother, A. Lee Anger; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Clemon, Elroy and Tom Anger; and sister, Ellen Short.
Funeral and committal services will take place 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Africa of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Personnel messages of condolence may be offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com.
