Abraham BUCHER, of Taylor Township, Greene County, Indiana, died at the home of his son, Newton BUCHER, the first day of December 1919.

He was born in Switzerland in 1842, more than seventy-seven years ago. He came to America with his parents when about two years old, and lived in Taylor Township seventy-five years. Here he did his life's work and here he died. He helped to clear away the forests and make it possible for those who came after him to have more comforts and good things than the pioneers could have. He was among the young men who lined up to save the Union in the war of the rebellion.

In his young manhood he was married to Malinda BRAZEL. To them were born five children. The wife and mother and two of the children, one in infancy and one in young manhood—William—preceded him in death. The other three—Harley, Newton and Mrs. John AXE—are all married and all live near their old home, with children growing up around them.

Funeral services were held at Antioch Christian Church in Taylor Township on Wednesday, December 3, 1919. In the cemetery there the body was laid to rest till "all who are in their graves shall hear His voice and shall come forth."
