Childress, Richard H. Age 63, of Sandwich passed away at his home March 16, 2012. He was born on September 19, 1948 in Geneva, IL, to the late Richard and Patricia Childress. He married the former Janet Sestak. He served his country with the US Army and served in Vietnam before becoming injured. He discharged as Sgt. He was a mechanic by trade and was an avid Nascar fan. He was a member of the Montgomery VFW Post. He was a devoted grandfather who's passion was to watch his grandchildren in any event they may be in. He is survived by his loving wife Janet, Daughter Jennifer (Eddie) Koley Son; Jeffrey (Karen) Childress, Grandchildren Taylor, Trey, Hayley, Alyssa, Reigin and Wyatt. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held March 22, 2012 at Salem Lutheran Church Sandwich from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday March 23, 2012 at 10:00 am. At the Church with Rev. Wayne Derber officiating. Inurnment will take place at North Cemetery St. Charles. Memorial may be directed to the family for the grand childrens education.
