He was the son of son of Dr. Raymond C. Drury Sr. and Frances Drury.
On June 14, 1950, he married Marie Pappas at at the American Consulate in Kobe, Japan. She was a teacher in the Dependent's School Detachment in Japan.
They had no children.
On July 29, 1953, Marie Pappas Drury married Jack Capps, USMA Class of 1948, at the Cadet Chapel at West Point, New York. After earning her Master of Library and Science degree she became the Map and Manuscript Librarian at the United States Military Academy.
