Seyller, Donald E. 88, of Elgin passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Tower Hill Health Care Center, South Elgin. He was born August 7, 1925 in Burlington, the son of Frank and Louise Sester Seyller. He had been a resident of the Burlington and Elgin area all of his life. He was employed by Kenyon Brothers Farming, Elgin Storage and then Burren Transfer before retiring. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Johnson Seyller whom he married on July 29, 1950; 3 children, Janice Seyller of Roselle, Steve (Susan) Seyller of Jackson, MO and Don (Lisa) Seyller of South Elgin; 6 grandchildren, Steven (Jaci) Seyller, Christina (Rick) Biri, Jessica, Jason, Alan and Kathryn Seyller; 2 great-grandchildren, Bella and Haven; a sister-in-law, Margaret Freeman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Teresa Follman, Kathryn Waughon and Jeanette Seyller; 7 brothers, Frank, Ray, Herman, Harold, Fritz, Ernie and Ralph Seyller. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will be in St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church Cemetery, Hampshire. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Thursday from 9:15 a.m. until the time of mass in the church. www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com or 847-741-8800.
