Allie was the son of Arthur Newton and Mary Elizabeth Hill VanCleave. Allie was married to Donnie Barnhart on April 28, 1918 in Carroll County, Tennessee.

HUNTINGDON -- Funeral services for Allie H. Vancleave, 75, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon with the Rev. W. T. Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memorial Gardens with Dilday Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Vancleave died Tuesday afternoon at Carroll County General Hospital after a long illness.

He was a disabled World War I veteran, a retired farmer, and a member of the Methodist Church.

He was active in the Carroll County Fair for many years, and served as court officer for the Circuit Court for several years. He served on the Carroll County Equalization Board for more than 20 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Donnie Barnhart Vancleave of Huntingdon; a son, Robert H. Vancleave of Macon, Ga.; a daughter, Mrs. Retha Margaret Stone of Paris; 12 grandchildren and two great-erandchildren; five brothers, Oscar Vancleave of Louisville, Albert Vancleave of Columbus, Ohio, Clyde Vancleave of Huntingdon and Carol Vancleave of Washington, D.C., and Edmond Vancleave of Rogerville.
