Ameretta Easbey Laird Ransier completed the most important journey of her life August 5, 1998 at her home in Pasco.

Ameretta was born January 14, 1912, to Charles and Kathryn Easbey in Chinook, Montana. She was the seventh child born in a family of twelve children.

Ameretta was married to Bert Laird for 26 years. They brought their family from Walla Walla to Pasco in 1943. They had four children.

Ameretta married Roy Ransier in February 28, 1970. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Kennewick General Hospital until retiring in 1977.

Ameretta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. During her 55 years in the Tri-City area, she was a member of First Christian Churches in Pasco and Kennewick. She also attended the Ascension Lutheran Church in Kennewick.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann Standring and husband Alfred, Richland, Hazel Rhode and husband James, Kennewick, and Lucille Salazar and husband Johnny, Kennewick; a brother, Fremont Easby and wife Helen, Helena, Mont.; three sisters, Alice Whitmere, Helena, Mont.; L. Nora Pershal, Beaverton, Ore., and Susan Viske and husband Siguard, Brooklyn Park, Minn,; grandsons, Gordon Salazar and wife Kim, Kennewick, David Salazar and wife Tina, Richland, Michael Standring and wife Kimberly, Aurora, Colo., Jay Rhode, Kennewick, John Rhode and wife Jill, Provo, Utah, John and Paul Salazar, Kennewick; granddaughters, Michele Hafer and husband Merle, Spokane, Wash., Aline De Mattia and husband Mike, Richland; Tammara Elliott, Wahkiacus, Wash., Rebecca Rentschler, Richland, Kathy Barnes, Spokane; Wash., Lisa Standring and David Turner, Richland, Jacqueline Leggett and husband Ben, Spokane, Wash.; stepdaughters, Dorothy Alice Peterson and husband Ervin, Morgantown, Kentucky, Sandy Ransier, Seattle; stepson, Arnie Laird and wife Donna, Stanley, N.D.; and 27 great grandchildren.

Ameretta was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, who died in 1987; her son, Frank (Francis Bert) Laird who died in 1994; grandson, Tony Salazar, who passed away in 1995; five brothers, Lawrence, Francis, Gordon, James and Charles Easby; two sisters, Kathryn McKenzie and Lucille Klindworth.
