Knuth, Anna nee Liebzeit (Nov. 11, 1859-May 26, 1942 –wife of Michael Knuth [married Feb. 9, 1882 in civil ceremony in City of Howards Grove, Sheboygan County] –daughter of Carl Liebzeit and Dorothy Axel [both born in Germany] –born in Sheboygan County –when her son Edmund was killed in a car accident on Nov. 26, 1933, Anna inherited his farm centered in Section 33, Town of Eaton plus the 40 acres of swampland in the NE1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 7, Town of Eaton –on the same day that she inherited this farm she sold it on May 24, 1934 to her son-in-law William Gumm and his wife Amanda Knuth who lived in the City of Sheboygan –after her husband’s death Anna created an 80 acre farmstead at 3002 Hickory Hills Road in Section 5, Town of Eaton –Anna lived here with her two unmarried children, Richard and Elsie Knuth –on April 22, 1935 Anna sold this 80 acre farm at 3002 Hickory Hills Road to her unmarried son Richard Knuth and her unmarried daughter Elise Knuth –Anna likely lived in on this farm with her two children until her death in 1942 –died from “cardiac failure, acute, 27 hours –chronic valvular heart disease, 3 years –arteriosclerosis”) –buried at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Rockland [marriage record Sheboygan 5-174] [death record Manitowoc 35-219]

Mrs. Anna Knuth Dies On Tuesday In Town of Eaton

Mrs. Anna Knuth, aged 82, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday following a heart attack at the home of her son, Richard, on the homestead farm in Eaton township.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Anna Leizert, was born November 11, 1859, in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, and in 1902 came to Manitowoc county. Her husband preceded her in death in 1932.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. William Gumm of Sheboygan, Mrs. William Draheim of Withee and Mrs. Elsie Muth of Eaton township; three sons, Richard on the homestead farm, Herman of Howards Grove and William of Rockland township, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the farm home and at 2 o’clock at St. Peter’s Lutheran church in Rockland township. The Rev. Mr. Schwartz will officiate and interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
