Audrey was born on May 19, 1921 on a small farm in Russell, ND, the second of seven children. She passed away at the age of 95 on November 3, 2016 in Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavirn & Theresa {Hoffman} Hagedorn, husband, Samuel, brothers; Gerald Chris, Cyril, George and sisters; Mabel (Wilson) and Hazel (Peters). She is survived by a sister; Donna (Smith), son; Sam, daughter; Starlin (Bob) and grandson; Michael.

Mom and dad met when her older brother, Cyril, brought home a tall, dark and handsome man. They were all living in North Dakota at the time. Together, they drove to Washington in a '39 Chevrolet to escape the harsh North Dakota winters. Once here they bought a tiny, one bedroom house which was beautifully remodeled into a three-bedroom home to raise their two children.

Mom was the homemaker. She baked the most delicious desserts, made most of Starlin's clothes and tended her blueberry and raspberry gardens. She loved arts and crafts. There was always a project on the dining table. Tole painting, macramé, resin grapes and TriChem paints. Her favorite was oil painting which she was quite good at.
Her nieces and nephews spent many fun times at their Aunt Audrey's. She always had a wonderful dessert ready to serve with a cup of tea. Mom loved each of you with all her heart. Thank you for all the love you gave her and Uncle Sam.

A Gathering to celebrate Audrey's life was held on January 4, 2017 at Joeseppis restaurant on 21st and Pearl, Tacoma, WA.
