Nestor E. Mendoza
Nestor E. Mendoza, of Madera passed away early morning August 21, 2005 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, CA. due to heart failure, at the age of 86. Born in Merced, Nestor attended St. Joachim's elementary school and local Madera schools. While in the Army during WW II and teaching mechanics to soldiers Nestor married Verline Freeman. He later moved to Hayward, CA. and worked for Ameron Pipe as mechanic supervisor for over 30 years. Nestor rode Harley motorcycles for many years. He and his wife enjoyed 64 years together traveling in their motorhomes or cruising the Delta waterways in their steelcraft boat. Nestor was a member of the Mechanics Union for 48 years.
Nestor is survived by his wife Verline, daughter Brent Erwin of Madera, son Dan Mendoza of Sonora, Grandfather of Erwin Martin and Mckenzie Erwin, Michael Mendoza, Brian Mendoza, James Mendoza, and Great Grandfather of Corey Martin.
A funeral service will be Friday, August 26, 2005 at 10 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera, Veteran's Honors and interment will follow in Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
