Homer L. Brewer Memorial for Homer L. Brewer Born in Manchester, NH on Feb. 23, 1925 Passed Away Feb. 6, 2012 and resided in Londonderry, NH. Visitation: Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Service: Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 11:00 am Cemetery: Pending Homer L. Brewer, Londonderry, passed away peacefully at his home on February 6, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born in Manchester on February 23, 1925, the son of Homer L. and Gladys (Hadley) Brewer. He graduated from Manchester West High School. Upon graduation in 1943 Homer entered the U S Army; serving during World War II he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant before receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. He then went on to marry Florence G. Moody of Londonderry where they resided and raised their family. Homer was the owner of J. Schwartz Motor Transportation Company of Manchester for over 70 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #44, Derry, Chief of the Londonderry Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Manchester Country Club for over 40 years where he enjoyed playing golf until 2009, and Homer was the first recipient of the Londonderry Citizen of the Year award. He is survived by two sons; Kenneth M. Brewer (Cherri) of Manchester, and David L. Brewer (Kathy) of Londonderry; his wife Susie and her children, Dan Leighton (Carol), Gary Leighton (Bobbi), Brett Leighton (Michelle) three grandchildren; Tiffany, Jeremy (Jessica Masters) and Jess (Jessie); one great-granddaughter, Briana; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Florence , parents and sisters Ethel Jache, Beverly Hall, Mildred Chase, brothers Edward and Gordon Brewer. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 10, 2012, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 11 am on Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Goodwin Funeral Home. A spring graveside service will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry.
