INGLESIDE—B. Frank Alford, 83, passed away Tuesday [May 26] in an Aransas Pass hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Rising Star, Texas and had lived in Ingleside since 1929. He was a retired employee from Central Power and Light Company, a naval veteran of WWI serving aboard the U.S.S. Arizona and the U.S.S. Texas. He was a charter member of the Rising Star American Legion, a life-long Methodist serving as a member of the official board of the Ingleside United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Ingleside School Board for a number of years and was a charter member of the Ingleside Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife, Vera of Ingleside; one son, Col. Frank Alford, Jr. of San Antonio; his daughter, Mrs. Wanda Casall of Ingleside; two sisters, [Mrs.] F.E. Roark of Rising Star, Mrs. Edgar Philen of De Soto; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church of Ingleside with Rev. Dick Lear, officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery....
