Mrs. Alice White Armstrong, 78, of 5240 Sweetwater Ct., died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Rolling Roads Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

A native of Elizabeth City, Mrs. Armstrong was a member of Rolling Roads Church of the Nazarene and the God's Ambassadors Sunday School Class. She was very active in the Work and Witness program, having served in several overseas countries.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Mr. J. Blair Armstrong of the home; daughter, Louise Secord of Pomona, Calif.; son, Rev. Leon Armstrong of Vinton, Va.; half-sister, Lillian Sanders; half-brother, Burt White; aunt, Gracie Cartwright, all of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
