Wilma Angle, 84, of Olney, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with Reverend Father Ron Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney and from noon-1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow Mass in St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.

Mrs. Angle was born August 28, 1929, in Richland County, the daughter of Edmund and Veronica (Roth) Schneider. She married Francis "Bob" Angle on November 23, 1955. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1987.

Wilma had worked at the old shoe factory and Appliance+ Store. She was registered with the Girl Scouts of America for more than 40 years. She served as a leader of two troops in Shagbark Council for more than 33 years, spending more than 6,300 hours of her life in troop meetings, teaching life skills, camping skills, and assisting girls with hundreds of badges.

Wilma served many leadership positions in Richland County, including being a basic leadership trainer, first-aid trainer, a mentor for new leaders, day camp unit leader, day camp committee member, cookie and calendar committee, and coordinator of many local and council events. She was awarded one of the highest council awards for a volunteer, "The Pride of Shagbark Council." The Belleville Diocese also awarded her the St. Anne's Medal for Girl Scout leaders. She also served as a volunteer with the Catholic Youth Group for four years, St. Joseph's Women's Guild for many years, and also volunteered with Small Treasures Day Care for 10 years. For her years of service to the Girl Scouts and devotion to her family and the community, she was named Woman of the Year for Richland County. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

Wilma is survived by a son, Jeffrey J. Angle and wife Teresa J., of Fairfield; daughter, Renee M. Angle, of Olney; daughter, Kristi J. Crawford and husband Tony, of Olney; grandchildren, Jordan Angle, of Columbus, Ohio, Kacie Crawford, of Olney, and Courtney Crawford, of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, special friend, Lucky Redman, sisters, Alberta Zuber, Ann Harms, Marcella Schneider, Rozella Richey, and Aldelphia Weiler, and brothers, Cletus, Eustace, Carl and Eugene Schneider.
