WORKMAN ELECTROCUTED

Fred Payette, aged 29, of 1226 S. Twelfth Street was instantly killed by electricity while at work with other employees of the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation near Francis Creek, this county.

Payette was working with crews engaged in moving high tension and distributing wires from one side of the road to the other side. In some manner, he came in contact with the distributing wire. Skilled aid and men and physicians worked over him for three hours. He had been rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident and fellow workers said he died on the way. He had received 4000 volts.

Payette had been employed continuously by the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation since August, 1927.

He is survived by his wife and three small children.

The remains were taken to Coleman, Wisconsin, his former home, Saturday and the funeral was held there Monday with services at the Catholic Church. This accident occurred at a place one pole away from where Lineman Wilda was killed in similar fashion last summer.
