Annie Ruth Baylor-English was born to the parentage of Dora Lee Branch Crawford and James Ollie Crawford on June 10, 1942 in Marlin Texas. She was the first born of 14 siblings and was never ever at a loss for words. She was quick to remind everyone that she was the oldest sibling and that she was in charge. She received her education in Dallas schools where she attended, C.F. Carr Elementary, Sequoia Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School.
Annie Ruth was an humble and faithful servant of God. She accepted Christ in her life at a very early age at Galilee Church of God and Christ. As a young adult, she attended Greater Powerhouse Church of God and Christ with her siblings. Later in her adult life, she attended Garza Avenue Church of Christ with her children. Finally, she joined Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ where she served actively until her health failed.
Annie fell in love and married Edward Lee ‘Midget' Baylor Sr. and to this union, three children were born, Edward Lee Baylor Jr, Tracey Ruth Baylor, & Vincent Todd Baylor Sr. Annie Ruth was a dedicated wife and mother, nothing was too much for her children. She was known as the neighborhood mom, never meeting a stranger. She was President of the PTA and spent countless hours at school activities, supporting not only the endeavors of her kids, but of the family kids and kids of the neighborhood.
December 27, 1974 Edward Lee ‘Midget' Baylor Sr. departed this life. Some people never find a single love in a lifetime, but Annie Ruth was blessed to find true love a second time. Annie Ruth met the love of her life, James Mac English formerly of Fairfield, TX and the two were later married. Annie Ruth was the most happiest when she was talking and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
