He was born Aug. 14, 1912, in Davenport, to Axel and Alma Peterson Anderson. He married Leone Schaffer in June 1936. She died in 1970. He married Phila DuFloth Aug. 18, 1973, in Davenport.
He was the former Scott County First Deputy Treasurer, retiring in 1976. He served in the European Theater during WW II.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Robert Newhard, Anamosa, Iowa, and Steven Newhard, Davenport; three grandchildren; and cousin and special friend, Ed Nord, Illinois.
