Chester's father, "Newt", was also born in Louisville, KY and lived his entire life there. Chester's mother, "Eva", was born in Lawrenceburg, Anderson Co., KY. They married on April 16, 1904 in Louisville, KY where they lived the rest of their lives and are buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in that city.
On June 13, 1936, in Indiana, Chester married Louisville, KY native, Mildred Lea "Midge" Craille (1921-2008). She was the daughter of Richard Henry Craille (1892-1956) and Savannah B. Crain (1891-1964). Mildred's parents were married on June 10, 1911 in Clark Co., Indiana and lived most of their lives in Louisville.
Chester and Mildred were married for 61 years and had six children. Listed in the order of their birth: Donna Rae Needy(1937-2011), Joan Janan Needy (1942-1999), Chady Susan Needy (1945- ), Chester Cecil "Chet" Needy JR (1948- ), Janalyn Marie Needy (1951- ) and Laura Michelle Needy (1956- ).
Chester died on Oct. 31, 1997 in Louisville, KY at the age of 83. He is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson County where his parents are buried. His wife, Mildred, died on May 16, 2008 at the age of 87. She too, is buried in Evergreen, next to Chester.
