Milford - Charles Hines, 68, of Stockland, died at 11 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 22, 1959) at the Iroquois Hospital.
Born May 5, 1891 in Tipton county, Ind., he was the son of Lindley and Laura Small Hines. He was married in 1913 to Lucille Galloway, who survives.
Mr. Hines had been the custodian of the Stockland Community High School until his retirement in 1955 due to failing health. He was known for playing the piano at community dances.
Other survivors include four sons, James of Vurnettsville, Ind., Ralph of Watseka, Joe of Boise, Idaho and John of Milford; a duaghter Mrs. Betty Irwin of Milford; a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Minor of Indianapolis and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Barker Funeral Home in Milford. The Rev. Floy Eiken and the Rev. John Long will officiate, with burial in Sugar Creek Chapel Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
