Dr. Edward Lenoir Jones, 88, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. Born on November 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Reverend and Mrs. E.M. Jones. A native North Carolinian, Dr. Jones graduated from Gastonia High School, High Point College, and Duke University. Dr. Jones was a General Practitioner in Thomasville from 1957 through 1980. Well loved by his patients, Dr. Jones enjoyed practicing medicine, especially when delivering babies. He also had a passion for Tennessee Walking Horses. He was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII. Dr. Jones is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne Alman Jones of Thomasville; two sisters, Elizabeth Payne of Weaverville and Ida Ruth Alman of Asheboro; and various family members and loved ones. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Fair Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Van Meter and Mrs. Jane Baity officiating followed by visitation and dinner for everyone in the church family life center. A private burial will precede the service.
