Frederic was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Whipples Lumber Company, Laceyville, in 1978, after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Forkston United Methodist Church; Forkston Grange #1153; charter member of the F.W.M. Emergency Squad; American Legion; and former member of the Tunkhannock Area School Board. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, as well as woodworking and reading.
