She was born to Irvan and Florence (nee Truckey) Labine in Pound, WI on May 14, 1920.
Millie graduated valedictorian of Coleman High School, Class of 1938.
She married John E. Fitzgerald on July 5, 1942 in Glendale, Calif. She raised her family in Manitowoc, WI as a member of St. Boniface Parish and worked at Holy Family Hospital. She later owned and operated Millie's Park Cafe and subsequently retired to Albuquerque, N.M. where she enjoyed volunteering at the Barrett House Women's Shelter and helping those in need. She spent her final years in Prairie du Sac.
As a strong and fiercely independent woman, Millie quenched her never-ending thirst for knowledge through her love of the written word and fed her insatiable appetite for exploration by traveling from Alaska to Africa. She expanded her heart by seeing the world through other's eyes and tended her spirit through her sharing with others.
