Funeral services for Duane Anderson, 89 of Pryor, will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:00 at First Baptist Church in Pryor. Dr. Michael Cox will officiate with burial following at Adair Cemetery.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec 29 from 2-4 pm. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor.


Duane Eldon Anderson was born on October 19, 1924 in Yarnish, Oklahoma to Clarence and Eula (Beck) Anderson and then from about the age of seven, he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Clint and Elizabeth Lewis. He passed away on December 20, 2013 in Tulsa.


Duane grew up and attended school in Clayton, Oklahoma and graduated from Clayton High School in 1942. He attended college at the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas and received an Associate's degree in business.


Duane married the love of his life, Jean Falls, on October 21, 1951 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. They celebrated almost 49 years of marriage together before her death on September 24, 2000.


Duane and Jean moved to Pryor in the 1950's, but traveled with his job for many years living in Lubbock, Texas and in Stillwater. He retired from Tuchina Contractors of Stillwater, his own company which constructed pipelines in the oil and gas industry, in 1987.


Duane was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Pryor. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and golf and loved his dog, Tula.


He is survived by his daughter, Risa Moore and husband Nelson of Tulsa; his son Shawn Anderson and wife Debbie of Carrolton, Texas; four grandchildren, Cameron Moore and Nicole Moore of Tulsa and Morgan Anderson and Lauren Anderson of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Doris Smith of Durant; one half-sister Joanie Langley and one half-brother Eugene Anderson.


He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jean.
