Kay F. Barnes, 80, Duncansville, died Thursday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.

She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Ralph T. and Madeline (Neely) Forsht. She married David L. Barnes on Oct. 1, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2011.

Surviving are a son, Kip of Duncansville; a grandson, Matthew of Hollidaysburg; a brother, R. Gar Forsht (Anne) of Duncansville; a sister, Sue Dellinger (Phil) of Duncansville; a sister-in-law, Linda Rhodes (Bob) of Duncansville; and several nieces and nephews.

Kay was a 1952 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from the Hollidaysburg School District, where she worked in the administrative offices. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a past member of Hicks Memorial United Methodist Church, Duncansville.

Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until the noon funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
