Carl T. "C.T." Wolfmeier, 90, of Fulton passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. He was born April 1, 1923 in Fulton to the late Charles Frank Wolfmeier and the late Merle (Taylor) Wolfmeier. On July 17, 1943, he was united in marriage to Opal Loretta Kroell. She survives. C.T. proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in Germany. He was a member of Central Christian Church. From 1940 until 1987 he was the owner of Wolfmeier Mining and Trucking Company. In 1952 he started mining and had a large part in bringing H. K. Porter into Fulton which later became A.P. Green. He built Hensley Baseball Field, Robert E. Fisher Football Stadium, dug the east wing of the First Christian Church and did groundbreaking work on Union Electric. He had a hand in digging several basements throughout the county. He managed, sponsored, and coached the Khoury Baseball League from 1958 until 1961 where they were the Missouri/Illinois state champions each year under his coaching. His presence will be missed greatly by his wife of 70 years, Opal; his sons Larry Wolfmeier (Carol) of Fulton, Terry Wolfmeier (Patti) of Holts Summit, and Kelly Wolfmeier (Deborah) of Kingdom City; brother Gene Wolfmeier (Edith) of Fulton; grandchildren, Kerry Wolfmeier of New Bloomfield, Mark Wolfmeier of Holts Summit, Jeanie Peschka (Jon) of Oklahoma City; Marci Watson (Jason) of Fulton, Kristin Benne (Brad) of Montgomery City, and Kip Wolfmeier of Davidson, NC; and great grandchildren, Brenden, Daniel, Faith, Hope, Tristin, Makayla, Reed, and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loraine Schoening; and granddaughter, Tamara "Tami" Dudley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Kummer and Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations be made in C.T.'s name to Central Missouri Honor Flight, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Mo. 65251. Condolences can be left for the family on this site.
