Wilda June De Barge, 83, of Topeka, KS passed away December 27, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born June 24, 1930 in Mayetta, KS, the daughter of Ted and Lucy (Walder) Scheidegger.
June graduated from Holton High School. She had lived in the Topeka community for 36 years and had previously lived in Holton for 47 years. June retired from the Kansas Department of Revenue and had previously worked for 15 years at the Holton School District as librarian and secretary. She was a member of the Lowman Methodist Church in Topeka.
June married Gene White on May 6, 1950; he preceded her in death on June 24, 1972. She married Don De Barge on December 27, 1976. He survives of the home.
Survivors include a son, Paul White (Susan) of Hoyt, KS; a daughter, Lori MacAdam (Dave) of Augusta, KS; step-daughter, Lynn Belt of Morganton, NC; 2 step-sons, Tony De Barge (Sally) and Scott De Barge both of Holton, KS; 2 sisters, Lucille Brown of Jefferson City, MO; Kay Steinbrink of Kansas City, KS; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
June was cremated. A Celebration of June's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will be in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, Kansas 66436.
