On 1870 census Levi K is found in his great-uncle "Fisher" Henry J. KLINGENSMITH's house along with other related youngsters. Per Klingensmith researcher Jim Wise: "Frances ISENSEE is Henry's granddaughter (by his daughter Esther) and the 10 yr. old male is Cyrus JACK, who is Henry's grandson (by his daughter Mary Ann)." I think Forks-Zion Lutheran Church is where records would be, the one they took apart & moved when Armstrong County was created partly out of Westmoreland County.

Unknown what became of Levi's parents John & Anna Barbara YOUNKINS CRAWFORD or why Fisher would be fostering him and other youngsters. Anna may have remarried a RIGGLE. John K (Johannes Klingensmith) Crawford is said to have died 1864, likely a Civil War death. John may have earlier married Martha ARNER who may be mother to some or all of his earlier children. There is on census, after the war, a John K Crawford of the right age.

Levi was yardmaster for the railroad. His head was cut off in a rail yard accident, details unknown. This would be right about a very violent time for railroads and unions; the US military was called in. His wife Ada did not remarry, she struggled to raise her family alone.
