Dorothy M. Protin, 78, of Charleroi, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, in the Washington County Health Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late James Jr. and Mary Stevenson Beasley. Mrs. Protin was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi, the Belle Vernon Moose, and the Roscoe Rod & Gun Club. She is survived by her husband, William F. Protin; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Carole Protin of Charleroi; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Robert Dick of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Ruth Desimone of Montana; four grandchildren, Page Echols, Bob Dick, and Justin and Kellie Protin; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Bryson Echols. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Protin was preceded in death by two sisters, Madge Beasley and Norma Soroka. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Howe Cemetery, Long Branch Borough.
