1860 Census in Holly, Oakland, MI: George is married to Lucretia Eliot and lists occupation as Farmer

Moved to Mower County, MN in spring of 1866 (after Civil War) in a covered wagon with five kids. They crossed Lake Michigan on a ferry.

1870 Census in Mower Co, MN George is listed as farmer. Married to Lucretia, 6 kids, youngest Frank age 2 born MN.

Served in MN State Senate as Republican in 1878 (District 4). Was a JP and also worked as Surveyor in Mower county
