Cpl. U,S. Army, {RA16255430}, Korean War-Cpl. Powell was killed in action by small arms fire on 11-30-1950 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with Co. A of the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Powell of Alexander County, Illinois. Cpl. Powell was presumed dead on 12-31-1953.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal with One OLC, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with One Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
