He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Powell of Alexander County, Illinois. Cpl. Powell was presumed dead on 12-31-1953.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal with One OLC, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with One Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
