Mrs. Matilda Clayton, 93, widow of Hugh M. Clayton, died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 1958, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stella Lippencott, 295 South Morris street, following an extended illness.
A daughter of John and Martha Lippencott Cage, she was born April 4, 1865 in Greene County and spent practically all her life in the county. She was the last of her family and was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, She married Hugh M. Clayton, who died in 1943. Surviving are two daughters, Stella, wife of Wilbur Lippencott, of Waynesburg and Mrs. Myrtle McCue of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
