Mrs. Gertie Whitis Redmon, 60, wife of the late John Marshall Redmon, died October 14 at the home of her son, Leonard Redman of Nancy, after an illness of four months.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.M Whitis, Mrs. Redmon was born Dec. 4, 1892. She married John Marshall Redmon Dec. 14, 1913 and three sons were born to this union. Mrs. Redmon and one son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Redmon professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Chesterview Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member of the church until her death. A woman of rare warmth and personality, her abiding loyalty to her friends and family was matched by her high sense of honor and her kindness to all with whom she came into contact.

Mrs. Redmon is survived by her mother; two sons, Leonard Redmon, Nancy, and John C. Redmon, Lexington; five sisters, Mrs. Sam Keller, Otterbein, Ind., Mrs. Ethmer Royal, Pine Village, Ind. Mrs. Ralph Webb, Sidney, Ohio, Mrs. F.D. Steele, Swartz Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Robert Miller, West Somerset; one brother, Otto Whitis, Oxford, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Chesterview Baptist Church, the Rev. Lee Dykes and the Rev. Bert Whitaker officiating. Burial was in the Chesterview cemetery.
